Member stock ownership, through our stock program, is a cornerstone of our ability to remain privately held. We are continuously working to offer a stock program that is accessible, affordable and attractive.We offer eligible participants the annual opportunity to buy stock at a share price that is independently appraised twice a year. This is a convenient way to acquire an equity interest in Stanley Consultants. Our Employee Compensation Plan has many components, and includes both directly held shares of Stanley Consultants and shares owned through the Stanley Member Stock Bonus Plan (SMSBP). These benefits provide a strong incentive to attract and retain talented individuals.
The SMSBP is a tax-qualified retirement plan that’s separate from our 401(k) plan but works in a similar way. The plan mainly invests in Class A nonvoting shares of Stanley Consultants. On top of the 401(k) matching contributions, Stanley adds up to an extra 1% of eligible salaries to the plan each year.
